Save that for roller derby. Someone could have been seriously injured.

Wow, that’s poor. I’ m not surprised, but it’s still really poor.

The good old squeeze move.

pink rider whacked the back of his head good. will have to look at post-race coverage for injury list. concussions, etc. that was a bad one.

Except for the guy in blue, everyone else who falls slams their head on the ground. Good case for wearing helmets!

So........ first round. So it doesn’t actually matter who’s first or second if they’re like .1 of a second apart, does it? Since they’ll have other rounds to figure it out?
(I know nothing about bicycle racing)

welp..thats why they mandate them for races :p
tho...you could argue that if they hadnt been clipped in to their pedals they wouldnt have smacked into the ground like that
i mean..i fly like a majestic cow whenever i go over the handlebars and usually dont land on my head

outch.... looked like that one was self inflicted tho
![]() 08/05/2020 at 13:35 |

well..theres points for winning a round...tho the overall winner is whomever finishes all the rounds in the least amount of time total
its all about fancy yerseys... anyhoo... farscythe should never attempt to explain anything... especially not during a heatwave when his brain is mush

And that gray haired photographer could have been crippled. That's awful.

I think most of the four guys who slammed their heads didn’t land on their head. They landed on their side/shoulder or back and their head’s momentum kept on going into the pavement.
With the big concussion I got a month ago, there were no marks, dirt, visible damage on my helmet. If I didn’t hit my head, that shows you don’t need to hit your head to get head trauma. You could argue there was no point in me wearing a helmet.
Is this you?

the guy that got put in the fence is not doing good... internal bleeding apparently theyve put him in an artificial coma

hmmm...could be me...that sure does look like the kinda position id find meself in
anyways i would never say theres no point to wearing a helmet... but usually dont anyway...i wear mine when i have to...or when i think im going to need it
(wich i realize isnt the sanest aproach to helmets...but it is the dutch aproach to helmets)

I’ve decided the times I feel a helmet is necessary is when I don’t need it. An easy beginner trail is when I feel I don’t need it and that’s when I should wear the helmet.
If I think a helmet is needed, that’s a black diamond trail and I’m going 2mph, super careful and slow.
I got the concussion on a
smooth, flowing double
track with no rocks, trees,
or any
obstacles at all
.

last time i really fucked myself up i was just trying to put the bin out on the street...
go figure...walked away from some truly impressive crashes on the bike with hardly a scratch... miss 3 months of work coz i tripped whilst pulling a bin
its all just luck...head armor just increases your odds of being lucky (and thats always a good thing)

Might as well make it full pedal power road rash... That was ruthless!

Someone was on the wrong side of the barriers.

Everyone within the lead group when it passes 3km to go banner on a stage with sprint finish will get the exact same time. Often there are time bonuses for placement at the finish.
On mountain finishes or any other stage where a safe organized sprint at the finish is not possible the 3km rule will not be in effect.

Life threatening injuries and exceedingly high chances of criminal charges.
This post very much needs a warning in the title if not also editing to make indirect links to the video.

Latest updates are looking better. He is still at great enough risk to be kept unconscious by Intensive Care, but the troubles intubating and stabilizing his condition appear to have passed as of 20 minutes before this post. Shock and severity of his injuries are by no means any less mortally serious.
D
eputy director of the hospital in Sosnowiec. He said that apart from craniocerebral trauma already reported &
chest injuries they found no spinal cord or brain injuries. Jakobsen is now generally stable but they will be able to better diagnose him tomorrow.
For those unfamiliar with pro cycling. This was an outrageous breach of conduct. Even taking place in the dead center of a wide avenue this would’ve drawn severe remonstrations from race officials , all teams present , and the international governing body. Months of ongoing strife over something everyone walked away from with bruises.

Hate seeing that stuff. The guy he was racing just kept moving over, and knew better. That is the definition of red mist racing moments. 1500+ watts each at 40+mph sprinting. Pulling 54x11 gears mortals could never crank over. Awesome stuff but my word there is zero protection.

good...was a bit worried to wake up and find out he passed... sure sounds like he took a lot of damage to the face tho...
suspect the guy that forced him off wont be allowed to race again this year....and he’d be lucky if thats all the punishment he gets...tho i wont be surprised if theres criminal charges...
i mean..that wasnt even a little bit accidental..heat of the moment maybe...but not an accident

Apparently the race official that got careened into was airlifted to hospital with head injuries he’s regained consciousness from. Numerous other riders ‘ season’, short as it is, ended there as well. Probably no need to delve into what would set the bar for criminal prosecution. Hopefully everyone recovers and the fine line of peacetime combat is reestablished.
